Acute Care SIG Volunteer Opportunities!
Are you interested in increasing your involvement with our professional organization? Does networking with colleagues on special projects that enhance the presence of the acute care SIG and care of acutely ill children sound like something you’ve been looking for? We have opportunities for you!
The Acute Care SIG is looking for volunteer members who would like to get more involved for the following projects:
Scholarship Development: We are collaborating with the Pediatric Orthopedics SIG and the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board to establish a scholarship in memory of our colleague Sarah Gutknecht. We would like some members to work with these collaborating organizations to develop criteria for the scholarship and then assist in reviewing the applications received.
Continuing Education: To expand our reach as a special interest group, we are planning to offer continuing education opportunities in the near future. We imagine this may be a quarterly event, perhaps a journal club or other presentation, that members can call in to and possibly view later through PedsCE. If you are interested in helping to develop this regular offering, supporting necessary paperwork for CE, or speaking to our group, please volunteer for this subcommittee.
Communications / Social Media: We would like to be more present online! This includes maintenance of our website (acnapnap.enpnetwork.com), regular communication with members via email, and other updates to our community. If you are savvy with technology or interested in developing a standard of communication, please join this subcommittee!
- Mentorship: We know that our members have a lot of expertise, both clinically and from a professional leadership perspective. We have also heard that newer members would like some mentoring in such topics. If you are interested in helping to develop a program to align our experts and novice members, please consider joining this initiative.
We hope to identify a chair of each sub-committee and a few members for each group. Students are welcome and encouraged to participate. Please respond to this call for volunteers by Monday, September 24, 2018 by replying to this email. We hope that you will join us as we grow as a SIG and ensure that members are getting what you need from this organization. Meetings will be mutually agreed upon by the workgroup and will utilize teleconferencing for everyone’s convenience.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact us at email@example.com. We hope to hear from you!
